It is never too late to spend time on the important things.  It is never too late to do what makes you happy.  There is always time to look around and see something beautiful.  The secret to using time well is no secret at all.  It is summed up in the Alcoholics Anonymous slogan:  One day at a time.  This is not only the best we can do, but the careful design of a Creator who knew what our needs are and how to meet them.  Some of us will need to adapt that slogan to:  One minute at a time.  That’s okay.  This minute is a gift.  As someone said, that’s why we call it the present.

[Super Silly Dress Up Contest]

The challenge was to create the silliest costume possible.  Blaise won most creative!  Frankie didn’t seem to think wearing a wig was a good idea.

“Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.”

André Gide

“Listen carefully to first criticisms made of your work.

Note just what it is about your work that critics don’t like – then cultivate it.

That’s the only part of your work that’s individual and worth keeping.”

Jean Cocteau

and remains in bondage like the princess in the fairy tale

’til its appropriate liberator comes to set it free.”

We did finger foods and dipping sauce for this go round.  I’m sure my bed will be sticky for weeks to come!

Food was gone in five minutes flat!

Grape and blueberry races lasted longer than the actual meal.

So thankful to God for these moments with my kids.

Happy summer!

As soon as they get off the bus the party begins!  We had nearly twenty little friends come over for snow cones, water balloons, frog catchin’, and goodies.

The treats and favors were a “summer bucket list” theme.
