2012!

Making sure all the party goods work properly.

I think they work fine!

New Years Eve looks a little different these days.  I remember when I used to get all dazzled up and go out on the town to ring in a new year.  Now I do a count down with silly spray at 8pm after dancing on our make-shift dance floor.  I get to celebrate through THEIR eyes!  What a joy.

Thank you GOD for 2011!!!

Many many blessings to you in 2012!

This is

how I feel the day after CHRISTMAS—

Taking off the ornaments isn’t quite as fun as putting them on.  Almost, but not quite!

I’m really really going to MISS taking Santa hat pics!

I might even miss ALL the colorful MESSES.

We have some new toys to enjoy!

Box after box after box of Christamsy things— all packed up till next year.  :(

Someone missed all the Christmas cleanup!

God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith;

the warmth of Christmas, which is love;

the radiance of Christmas, which is purity;

the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice;

 the belief in Christmas, which is truth;

 the all of Christmas, which is Christ.

Christmas Eve Day

Merry Christmas Eve Day!

Getting ready to hand out ornaments at our favorite nursing home!

 …

Peppermint stick anyone?!

Bell ringing has become a much loved Christmas Eve tradition.  We usually bring candy or treats to pass along.  This year we met Frank—he had such a kind Christmas spirit!

Snoooze.  Santa work is hard work!

Santa Stop HERE!

Now it’s time to pass out by the tree!

ahhhhhh CHRISTMAS!

Cards!

Every Christmas greeting is another link in the chain of our friendship, which each year grows stronger and longer, until someday, it will reach from earth to heaven.

{From a Christmas postcard 1913}

The back has a small pocket to hold the photo strip and Christmas message!

A huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to Christina for these cards!

You can’t catch me!

(Yes, I lack adult companionship!)

My sweets.

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.

Ready or not

CHRISTMAS here we come!

Cookies are all ready for St. Nick!!  Still working on the REAL ones.

Presents are wrapped and ready under the tree.

Photographed ALL my favorite Christmasy things!!

Christmas toys have been well loved and cherished.  I try to switch out the festive toys so they have something new to discover and enjoy every couple of days.

 These TINY TOES have had loads & loads of CHRISTMAS KISSES!

Our favorite poems and advent stories have been thoroughly ENJOYED!

 A new poem I am adding to our Christmas carols and poems book is Santa’s Christmas Eve Prayer.  The pastor of Emerson’s preschool shared this with preschoolers at their performance on Monday…

The sleigh was all packed, the reindeer were fed, but Santa still knelt by the side of his bed.

“Dear Father,” He prayed, “Be with me tonight. There is so much to do and my schedule is tight.

My sack will hold toys to grant all kid’s wishes.  The supplies will be endless like the loaves and the fishes.

I can do all these things, Lord, only through you.  I just need your blessing, then it is easy to do.

I do this only to honor the birth of the one, that was sent to redeem us, Your most Holy Son.

So to all of my friends, lest Your glory I rob, please, Lord, remind them who gave me this job.”

Your still have 4,374 minutes! ENJOY!!!!!
