Nonsense [Extravagant foolishness or frivolity]

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells.

Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living; it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.

Which is what I do.

And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.

Dr. Seuss

Where is the chocolate?

Here’s a lovely little way to recycle chocolate heart boxes…

Serve up a little pre- Valentine’s Day lunch for two!

Mini chocolate boxes are prefect for pb&js.  Big boxes could hold any number of nibblies.

ohhhh and how could I forget the “Spelling with Soup Cans” game???  Ya, it takes a serious dose of cheesiness to embrace this kid friendly lifestyle!

So after a full day of winter snow play…. get your SOUP ON!  :):)

My kind of basketball…

I took the big boys to see the Harlem Globe Trotters last night.

I loved their dunks and their crazy ball handling skills.

The humor was good, but the talent was spectacular!

And of course the boys suckered me into getting an official BALL—-

Uniquely YOU!

I loved this snippet from the book {Joy Breaks: 90 Devotions to Celebrate, Simplify and Add Laughter to Your Life}:

“There is nobody else exactly like us, and there never will be.  Each of us is His special creation and is

alive for a distinctive purpose.  Because of this, the person we are, and the contribution we make by

being that very person, are vitally important to God.”

Kiddie Laundry Mat

Question: Can laundry be fun?

Answer:  Yes, yes it can!  BUT only if you are a kid!!!

Wash. Dry. Fold. Repeat.

Ya, it’s so much more fun when you PRETENDING!

This was Emerson’s santa gift!

Sadly, this poor laundry mat will soon be closing shop… cardboard can only last so long (not long at all in our house!)…  but it was fun while it lasted.

{Theme of Week} Snow!

Does snow make you happy??? Sure does us… we waited and waited and waited… finally we have enough to get serious about some snow play!

From our Snowman Buffet (aka lunch):

Oh! the snow, the beautiful snow, Filling the sky and earth below, Over the housetops,

over the street, Over the heads of the people you meet. Dancing, Flirting, Skimming along.

Okay and perhaps the real reason for our theme this week (more like two weeks, three?)—  I had an excuse to dress Blaise up as a snow-baby:

If you have snow I hope you are enjoying every single second of it!

If you don’t— come visit– we have plenty to spare.

Happy Snowy Days to you!

Last peek back…

I promise! NO MORE Christmasy photos after today!

Christmas card 2009:

I had three different card versions… I can never pick just one?  I made a itty bitty mini from a folded buisness card,  a square tri-fold, and a post card with my all time favorite Christmas MEMORY (kids on mailboxes handing out treats)!

This design is from the fantastically brilliant designer Sarah Gourdie. She has the most lovely card designs.

Teacher THANK YOUs using Heather Ann’s gift tags:

(And yes, I was tempted to say thanks a latte!  But I thought that might be taking things a bit to far.)

Here are the cups—Starbucks gift certificates were tucked inside…

“It’s good to be children sometimes and never better than at Christmas.”

Charles Dickens

347 days till next year… but who’s counting??!

I hope the JOY and WONDER of Christmas stays with you all year long!
