Birth Story in a Nutshell:

Peaceful

-Relaxing

-Enjoyable (first time ever!)

-Moments of bliss—seriously!!

-Started full blown contractions at 3AM, in panic left at 4AM, arrived at birthing center dilated to 8, labored in Jacuzzi tub for several hours, pushed for 40 minutes— Total Labor Time: 5 HOURS!

Insights from this Birth:

-Giving birth is a highly transformative life event.

-Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be WONDERFUL.

-It’s okay to dream BIG. It might work out, it might not… and it’s okay either way –Embrace the “it’s too good to be true” moments.

-Often times life just work outs so perfectly that I know, without a shadow of doubt, that God is with us as He tosses us tiny miracles. Blaise’s birth was and always will be a miracle to me.

-It’s okay to ask for help from others. It’s okay to receive love and support from strangers, acquaintances, friends, and family.

-It truly doesn’t matter what other’s think. If you love it, go for it.

My Husband:

-Amazing

-Unbelievably strong, wise, supportive, and marvelous

-This is the first time we have been together from “baby start” to “baby finish.”  The journey has been magnificent.

A wondrous gift:

-With every child I have given birth to, I have grown new chamber in my heart! With this heart comes the capacity to love, embrace and accept other human beings more fully and completely. Thanks Blaise. Thanks to all the children I have given life to.

Blessings and Trials (when I think about this labor/delivery compared to my others):

God allows us to go through challenges and trials. In birth and life we get the “unexpected,” the“intensely difficult and painful” moments; and yet we endure. We leave with the knowledge that with God we can get through it. We emerge, not unscathed, but stronger, wiser and more powerful because we survived! I have survived some wildly intense births and some seriously painful moments in life. I am who I am because I those moments too.

**Through birth we learn about life.**
