Finding this today made me smile!!

While cleaning out my paper crafting supplies today I stumbled upon this tag album I made a couple years ago. It is made from a file folder & paper scraps. Sadly, this is probably th last papery project I’ve completed! Maybe I will make one for Frankie before she is a teen. :)

Emerson is upstairs sleeping with her “pretty pictures” right now.

Art Auction

At the end of each school year the kids get to host their very own art auction!

This was Emerson’s night and she was so thrilled to share her masterpieces.  Mason and I had a bidding war on the Newspaper art print!  I love this activity because it gives the kids a chance to talk about why each piece of artwork is special to them.

Can you believe they let a shirtless guy into this event??  At least he wore a bow tie for part of the night!  :)

Rainbow Box

Each year, as winter comes to a close, we bring out our BOX of RAINBOW FUN!  I save stuff from year to year and add a couple new activities each year to keep it fun and fresh.  This is my favorite time to talk about God’s promises, work on color recognition and to experiment with messy color mixing.

Today!

Blue and yellow make GREEN!

[Rainbow Thumbprint Prayer Cards]

[Name Practice Rainbow]

[Rainbow Word Board]

I made this last year with a canvas art board, colorful card stock strips and modge-podge.  The letters are from old restaurant signage.   This board is perfect for spelling practice and letter recognition.

[Paint Chip Puppets] Circa 2011

[Altoid Tin Colors] Circa 2010

[Rainbow Art Buffet]  This is my favorite thing pre-spring activity.  Free art fun!

Tricky Tricky!  TRY IT!  It’s harder than it looks!

[Roll a Rainbow]  Circa 2011  This classic game is always a big hit.  I make at least one ROLL-A-______ game each season.

[Write a Rainbow]  Circa 2011

[Rainbow Math]  Circa 2011

Color mixing doesn’t always go as planned!  (2011)

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Simple Gifts

Last night we took a jar full of colors and went out back to relax by the water.  I shouldn’t be, but always am, surprised how the simplest moments fill my heart with such immense joy.

Sending SUNSHINE in the MAIL!

My dear friend Kate and I made this Sunshine-in-a-Box to send off to a family who is going through some hard, hard times.  We thought a burst of yellow ”sunshine” might give them a smile or two!  We included a little craft for the kids and lots of sweet goodies.
